MJRF recognizes that community and connectedness is critical to mental health promotion. Days after we lost Miles, our village of friends, family and neighbors pulled together to Run for Miles in the Dexter to Ann Arbor race. Since the fall of 2017, many of Miles’ classmates, friends and family honored his memory annually through raising money and participating in the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention walk in Ann Arbor. Ele’s Place, provided suicide loss grief support for each of Miles’ three brothers and his parents on a weekly basis from 2017 – 2018. The Roberts family was honored to speak at Ele’s annual fundraiser in October of 2019 to share our story of Ele’s Place in supporting our healing journey.
